Young Visitors and Families

Recommended age 6-10 years.

A visit designed to discover the art of doodling as a family.

The greatest artists of all time have learned to draw by doodling. Some did it on the walls of their studios, others as soon as they found a small piece of paper or a small space on the back of their most famous works.

Doodling is a gesture that unites everyone: printmakers, painters, sculptors, photographers, etc.

Get ready to dive into an unknown world and encounter the funniest and most unusual doodles by artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso and Bernini, or more contemporary artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The Résidence Pro is an educational programme created in 2021 for students in vocational and agricultural high schools in France, with the aim of supporting high school mobility and promoting the artistic and cultural development of young students.

Each year, in partnership with one or more French regions, Villa Medici welcomes 300 high school students for a week’s immersion in Rome to take part in a programme of workshops, conferences, visits and practical experiences on a theme related to the fields of excellence of the vocational courses. The programme brings together teachers from the participating schools, a network of regional companies contributing their expertise, as well as speakers and facilitators from various backgrounds (journalists, art historians, artists, entrepreneurs, etc.).

For its first edition in 2021, the Résidence Pro is conducted in partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and focuses on the forestry-wood sector, from cabinet-making to forestry and wood construction.
