The French Academy of France in Rome – Villa Medici offers the Promenade Médicis, a private tour followed by a cocktail that can be organised during the closing hours of the Villa Medici.
You will discover the magnificent Renaissance palace of Villa Medici and its gardens, its history, architecture and collections, as well as the institution it hosts.
The one-hour tour begins with an introduction to Cardinal Ferdinand de’ Medici and a visit to his flats. Passing under the Loggia, the tour continues with a description of the interior façade of the Villa, the Roman bas-reliefs and the copies of ancient statues commissioned by the cardinal.
A cocktail is served at the end of the tour, allowing you to enjoy an exclusive area of Villa Medici. Depending on the season and the time of your visit, it can take place in the Petit Salon or the Salon de musique, which is privatised for the occasion, or in one of the garden areas. The cocktail lasts thirty minutes and is served by the Academy’s caterer. The menu varies according to the season.
For groups of more than 150 people, it is also possible to organise a private visit without a cocktail for €35 per person. For more information, write to us at: [email protected]
