The Résidence Pro 2024
During the third edition of the program, which will take place May 13-16, 2024, 250 new high school students will participate in the Résidence Pro at Villa Medici from 12 vocational and agricultural high schools in the Grand Est region : Reims, Nancy, Charleville-Mézières, Bischwiller, Illkirch Graffenstaden, Haguenau, Laxou, Pont-Saint-Vincent, Sarreguemines, Bar-le-Duc and Obernai.
The students, aged 15 to 18, come from the fields of construction, electrical engineering, heating engineering and home care. They will benefit from a tailor-made residential week with a program of workshops, meetings, lectures and visits to Rome on the theme “Tomorrow’s housing: living well together, sustainably.” The residency places students’ skills at the center of the program, with public speaking opportunities where they will be encouraged to present their projects and share their passion for their work.
Created in 2022 by Villa Médicis, Résidence Pro aims to promote excellence in French vocational and agricultural education. Since its inception, the program has benefited nearly 800 secondary school students in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Grand Est, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions, essential partners of Résidence Pro.

The Academy of France in Rome developed the Résidence Pro to give young people in the Bac Pro and agricultural sectors the opportunity to experience a residency at Villa Medici, with its change of scenery, exploration, learning, and encounters. This ambition was made possible through the involvement of the Grand Est region, which signed a three-year agreement with Villa Medici, and the patrons supporting Résidence Pro 2024: Fondation BNP Paribas, Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, and Amundi Asset Management.
