Melik Ohanian | Prix Marcel Duchamp 2015
Melik OHANIAN, photographer and cineaste, fellow at Villa Medici in 2003-2004, has won the
Prix Marcel Duchamp 2015.
For the Prix Marcel Duchamp, Melik Ohanian has realised a serie of 7 photographies, mounted in light pannels and animated, one second per minute, by a change of state of the Cesium 133, chimical element that defines the universal second in the atomic clocks.
The Prix Marcel Duchamp was created in 2000 by the Adiaf (Association pour la diffusion internationale de l’art français), that gathers 350 collectors of contemporary art in France. It awards the winner a grant of 35.000 euros.
Melik Ohanian lives and works in Paris and New York.
