Medici Residency with the région Occitanie
Cinema
Winner of the Occitanie-Médicis Prizeartist and director Noëlle Pujol spent three months in residence at Villa Médicis in autumn 2020.
She describes her experience, the opportunity to work and immerse herself in the history of the Villa’s Room 24 and that of her film “Boum! Boum !” (2020):
“I’ve been living and dreaming in Room 24 of the Villa for seventy-one days.
Go through the large Iron Gate, climb one hundred and twenty-five steps and you’ll find the eighth gate perched on the passageway, facing the long-necked trapeze palm.
On December seventeenth, starting at 6 p.m., forty-eight years after my first day, I’ll be exhibiting my digs, notes, photos, drawings, unresolved and groping investigations – in short, a cinema worksite.
With Mademoiselle Pujol-Vernet, Horace Vernet, Jean Despujols, Lola Braccini, the Marquis de Sade, Georges Braque, Klaus Theweleit, Juliet Berto, Patrick Boucheron, the Apaches de Saint-Ouen, Marco Ferreri and friends…”.
