Myriam Bahaffou is a doctoral student in feminist philosophy (Université de Picardie Jules Verne, Centre Universitaire de Recherches sur l’Action Publique et le Politique – CURAPP, and Unicerity of Ottawa), an ecofeminist activist, an aquaphile fascinated by echinoderms, a joyful antispeciesist and an outspoken eropolitician. Her work takes an intersectional approach to antispeciesism, focusing on the dynamics of animalisation and humanisation of racial minorities. Her book “Des Paillettes sur le compost, écoféminismes au quotidien” was published by Le passager clandestin in 2022.
Her residency project involves writing her next book (to be published in March 2025), provisionally entitled ” Eropolitique “. The aim is to revive old debates about the place of eroticism and pleasure in struggles, by placing them in the context of ecological, decolonial and queer thinking. Eropolitics is thus a radical opening onto the world and the promotion of the proliferation of life in all its forms, rather than the injunction to individual fulfillment that pleasure-capitalism has hammered into us. Finally, eropolitics reminds us that the desiring power of individuals and groups is the driving force behind all revolutionary action.
