Emilie Frèche

Author of novels, screenplays and plays, Emilie Frèche is also a film director. Her latest novel, Les amants du Lutetia, was shortlisted for the Goncourt 2023. She has published 2 texts dedicated to Samuel Paty and covered the trial of this attack for Le Point, which took place last autumn. She is currently working on a book about the trial, to be published in October 2025.

Her project at Villa Médicis focuses on the trial for the assassination of Samuel Paty. Taking up her articles published in Le Point and her courtroom sketches, Emilie Frèche is now tackling the intimate story of these seven weeks of hearings. The aim is to give an account of the questioning, the twists and turns and the correspondence that were hers, to give this great trial all its interest as a historical document.
