Elise Blotière

Elise Blotière is a film and video director. After several years in Italy, she settled in Marseille. In January 2024, she made her first film, Se réchauffe lentement, followed by Graine lumière cuirein September of the same year. She is currently working on a second short fiction film and preparing a video installation as part of a creative residency at Villa Glovettes.

Élise Blotière is in Rome to shoot images for a film conceived in parallel with the project to engrave a poem by Laura Vazquez on stone pedestals cut from Viterbo peperino, which will be installed in the gardens of Villa Medici this spring. The film traces the journey of the stone, from its extraction in a quarry in northern Lazio, to its shaping in the workshop of stonemason Daniele De Tomassi in Rome, to its integration into the gardens. It will be part of a performance conceived with Laura Vazquez (text and voice) and Arthur Boval (sound) to be presented at Villa Medici.
