Medici Residency
curating
Claire Le Restif (1967) is director of the Centre d’art contemporain d’Ivry-le Crédac, which she set up in 2011 at the Manufacture des Œillets, a venue she expanded in 2016 with the creation of the Crédakino dedicated to video, and in 2019 of a residency. She has curated the Prix Fondation Ricard (2019), Foire Paris Internationale (2020), L’Âme primitive, Musée Zadkine with Jeanne Brun (2021), La pensée corps with Alexandra Bircken, Lutz Huelle and Wolfgang Tillmans (2022) at the Fondation Ricard. In parallel, she regularly publishes texts and essays, and sits on the acquisitions committees of the Musée National d’Art Moderne and the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco. She was a lecturer in the Master’s program “L’art contemporain et son exposition” at Sorbonne-Université (2015-2020).
Her residency project focuses on Crédac’s curatorial project, or how the long-term curatorial experience helps to articulate a program that digs into several voices that come together and make sense. The aim is to show the main lines and analyze them in relation to a specific territory.
