Medici Residency
Singer and musician, Albin de la Simone emerged as a singer-songwriter with his first album, Albin de la Simone (2003). Since then, he has unostentatiously made his mark on the French music scene, continuing to carve his own path-and refine his voice-with albums released over the years. The latest, Toi là-bas, was released in March 2025, just days before Mes battements, her first book (combining drawings and lyrics), published by Actes Sud. Having worked as a musician, arranger, and producer with a wide range of artists (Pomme, Miossec, Vanessa Paradis…), he is also the author of several soundtracks, including that of the animated series La Vie de château.
After Mes battements, the book combining text and drawings completed at Villa Medici in 2024 and published by Actes Sud in March 2025, he is now devoting himself to writing and illustrating a second volume, scheduled for publication next fall.
He is also working on adapting his current play – on tour since March – for a series of performances at the Théâtre du Petit Saint-Martin in Paris during the fall.
He is also beginning work on a new album of unreleased songs, which will be released when it is fully completed.
