Adèle de Médicis

15-year-old Adèle arrived at Villa Medici in September 2020. Along with her two brothers, she accompanied her mother Coralie, who had just been awarded a scholarship to work as a restorer at the Académie de France in Rome. During the twelve months of her residency, Adèle kept a weekly diary of the lives of the inhabitants of this colorful and mysterious place, and of the great human comedy that took place there every day. Villa Médicis was keen to host his chronicles, told with a keen sense of observation, tinged with humor as discreet as it is biting, on its social networks. Published weekly on the institution’s Instagram page, his Roman adventures were so successful that the idea of publishing them was an obvious one. This collection of nearly 200 drawings by Adèle will take the reader into the heart of the daily life of this Villa and its guests, through the privileged eyes of one of its inhabitants.
