Reconstructing or building a new legacy?

Villa Medici and Martin Duplantier invite you to an evening dedicated to the essential role of heritage in reconstruction.

This special event, organized in conjunction with the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, will bring together voices from Italy, France and Ukraine to explore how cultural and architectural heritage can guide the rebuilding of cities, communities and identities in times of reconstruction.

In the historic setting of Villa Medici, on the occasion of the Festival des Cabanes, the evening will feature a round-table discussion promoting dialogue around ways of preserving, reinterpreting and integrating heritage into contemporary reconstruction efforts. Experts in architecture, urban planning and cultural preservation will share their thoughts on how to protect what remains while building a sustainable future rooted in history. The discussion will conclude with a question-and-answer session open to the public.

The event aims to strengthen ties between France, Italy and Ukraine, highlighting the power of heritage as a foundation for resilience, identity and renewal.
