On Friday, May 30 at 3:30 PM, in the Aula Magna of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, will take place the event Chromotherapia. Feel Good Color Photography, dedicated to the history of color photography in the 20th century.
The meeting, moderated by Yvonne De Rosa, director of Magazzini Fotografici, will open with institutional greetings from Giuseppe Gaeta, director of the Naples Academy of Fine Arts, Silvia Pesci, president of the publishing house Damiani Books, and Antonio Ruggieri, coordinator of the Academy’s photography school.
Participating in the event will be Pierpaolo Ferrari, internationally renowned photographer (and co-founder, with Maurizio Cattelan, of the Toiletpaper editorial project) and Sam Stourdzé, Director of the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici.
The title of the meeting echoes that of the exhibition currently on show at the French Academy in Rome and the recent publication edited by Damiani, both conceived by Maurizio Cattelan and Sam Stourdzé. Through the eyes of nineteen artists, the project traces the history of color photography through the 20th century, highlighting the evolution of visual language and meaning.
