Lecture by Alessandro Piperno “The unbridled luxuries of Vladimir Nabokov” – June 18, 8pm
“My pleasures are the most intense that man can know: writing and chasing butterflies.”
Despite the ups and downs of his life, Nabokov never ceased to lead a life devoted to luxury: a very special kind of pomp, born of his devotion to art – that privileged inner space where “the precision of poetry and the intoxication of pure science” come together.

Lecture by Aldo Cazzullo “Italian genius” – June 19, 8pm
Caesar and Virgil, St. Francis and Dante, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo: genius shapes history.
Wonder as a journey through the light of an identity.
Italian genius, a vision that shapes the world.

From May to October, the Festival della Bellezza will take place at 25 symbolic sites of Italy’s historic and artistic heritage, from the 6th century BC to the 20th century, including the Arena and Roman Theatre in Verona, Il Vittoriale, the temples of Selinunte, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. It offers performances and reflections on art in art venues with representatives of national and international culture, who take part in original events related to the theme of the festival edition. Guests over the years have included Ennio Morricone, Catherine Deneuve, Alessandro Baricco, Patti Smith, Philippe Daverio, David Grossman, Ute Lemper, Massimo Cacciari, Fanny Ardant, Francesco De Gregori, Alessandro Barbero, Dacia Maraini, Umberto Galimberti, Alessandra Ferri, Bernard-Henri Lévy and Paolo Sorrentino.
