As it does every year in the run-up to summer, the Académie de France in Rome brings together in a group exhibition the projects of the sixteen boarders at the end of their year of residence at the Villa Medici. On this occasion, the works leave the intimacy of the studios and enter the exhibition halls, where they will be seen by the public.

Presented from June 8 to September 8, 2024 under the curatorship of the Roman collective IUNO, the exhibition entitled A più voci (Many Voices) suggests a possible common score produced from artistic singularities. Whether artists, authors, architects, researchers or art theorists, the residents are bound together by the collective experience at Villa Medici, which gives rise to unexpected resonances and collaborations. The exhibition is characterized by the diversity of artistic practices represented, from literature to sound creation, sculpture, heritage restoration, architecture, photography and video. A number of recurring themes emerge from the plurality of projects: the plant world, the body and its transformations, forms of resistance, the dialectic between exterior and interior, not forgetting the figure of Rome, a city both real and fantasized.
