How to get to Villa Medici

You can get to Villa Medici:

  • By metro: line A, Spagna stop.
  • By bus: minibus no. 119, Trinità dei Monti stop.
  • By car: Villa Medici has no public parking lot.

Opening hours

Villa Medici is open to the public Monday through Sunday, 9.30 am to 7 pm (last admission 6:30 pm). It is closed on Tuesdays.

Villa Medici is closed on December 25, but open on other public holidays.

Services

Villa Medici has no coatroom, luggage storage or cafeteria open to the public. Visitors are allowed to enter guided tours and exhibitions with a small bag. The following are not allowed inside the spaces: large bags, suitcases, motorcycle and bicycle helmets, pets.

Accessibility

Villa Medici, classified as a historic monument, has some architectural limitations that can make access to certain areas difficult. The historic gardens and apartments are accessible only by stairs (level 3 for the gardens, level 6 for the apartments) and include cramped spaces. Villa Medici does not have elevators accessible to the public. It is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility:

  • Full access: gardens (via a 96-meter-long ramp with an 11.5% gradient)
  • Partial access: exhibition rooms (3 of 8 accessible rooms)
  • Inaccessible: Ferdinando de Medici’s historic apartments and the Michel Piccoli cinema room

 

If you have reduced mobility or a disability, please contact the Villa Medici in advance via the contact form to arrange your visit in the best possible conditions. Disabled visitors (civilians or war victims) and their companions are entitled to free admission for guided tours and exhibitions.
