The French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici is the oldest French residence outside France. Its name has been inextricably linked to the European history of the arts and scholarship since the 17th century, and its host site, the Villa Medici, has fascinated visitors since ancient times. Today, it is a national public institution of the French Ministry of Culture and a laboratory of both contemporary creation and art historical research that lies at the crossroads of different disciplines.
Its eclectic and ambitious program caters to a wide audience; its residency programs annually give many artists, authors and researchers the opportunity to work and create at Villa Medici; its rich heritage is constantly studied, restored and shared with as many people as possible.
This ambition is realized daily thanks to the sponsors and partners – companies and individuals – who support the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici and contribute to its history. This page is dedicated to them, to acknowledge their commitment and to thank them.
