Her project at Villa Medici

Her art practice will focus on researching underrepresented European shamanic practices in light of the recent academic reassessment of indigenous cosmologies and the relationship between humans and nonhumans. The goal is to critically evaluate the role of shamanism through experimental and extended cinema. Combining artistic practice and research, anthropology and sensory ethnography, the research aims to provide new perspectives on shamanic worldviews and amplify underrepresented voices. The residency will result in the first film of a trilogy and an artist’s book.
