Theatre of Exhibitions #7

Theatre of Exhibitions # 7 takes place from July 1 to August 14, 2016 at Villa Medici ( inauguration June 30 at 7 p.m. ). The initiative, now in its seventh edition, presents the projects of artists and researchers currently in residence at the French Academy in Rome. It is a meeting point for the fellows, the city and its inhabitants. This year, for the first time, after the exhibition at Villa Medici, some of the works will be displayed in Paris in September as part of the Viva Villa festival. Theatre of Exhibitions # 7 , curated by NERO , presents the research of a group of artists, designers, writers, filmmakers, musicians, performers and philosophers. This event was conceived as an itinerary to be deciphered: the intent is to illustrate the pensionnaires creations through a multi-format exhibition. The exhibition doesn’t disply achieved art works, but rather ‘tests’, points of tension between the intimate and public dimensions of the French Academy in Rome as experienced by the fellows. Theatre of Exhibitions # 7- In an untitled space and time brings together works by: Laurent Bazin , theatre director, Johan Brunel , designer, Julie Cheminaud , philosopher of the arts, Oscar Coop-phane , writer, Fabrice Denys – Fantazio , composer and performer, Jackson Fourgeaud – Jackson , composer, Anne-Violaine Houcke , film theoretician, Frederic Malek & Mathieu Kendrick – Lek & Sowat , visual artists, Adina Mocanu & Alexandra Sand , visual artists and performers, Philippe Petit , writer and director, Anne-Margot Ramstein , illustrator, Sébastien Roux , composer, Kenji Sakai , composer.
